Aave V4 testnet is now live, and the codebase is available for public review. We've also deployed a developer preview of what we're calling "Aave Pro," which is the new interface for the Aave web app and our DeFi-native users.
This is a critical phase in our development process, allowing the community to test new features and builders to experiment with the implementation. Our approach is security-first, and testnet is an important part of preparing for a secure and stable mainnet launch.
V4's New Architecture
Aave V4 introduces a new Hub and Spoke architecture. This architecture introduces several new design paradigms to Aave, each with their own set of benefits.
Capital is no longer fragmented across markets on the same chain. Instead, all liquidity flows through Liquidity Hubs, which increases utilization and unlocks better rates for both suppliers and borrowers. Governance also becomes lighter. New Spokes can be added or upgraded without disrupting the rest of the system. Learn more.
To price risk more accurately, V4 also introduces Risk Premiums. This system ties borrowing rates to the quality of the collateral provided. Users with 'safer' collateral receive better rates, which creates a more efficient market where users' borrow rates better reflect actual risk.
Aave Pro
To our power users and crypto-natives, we've also released the beta for Aave Pro, an upgraded interface specifically designed for Aave V4.

Aave Pro provides an improved user experience and more tools for advanced users. This will be the new home for those who want to use the full power of the Aave Protocol. Despite the launch of Aave App, made for the everyday user, we are still leaning into the needs of our core audience and make sure the Aave web interface gets the upgrades it deserves.
Security and Audits
Security is our primary focus. The Aave V4 codebase has undergone multiple reviews from independent auditors. We'll share more details closer to mainnet launch. We are committed to a thorough audit process and will continue to audit the protocol in the build up to mainnet launch. We'll make the audits publicly available closer to mainnet.
Road to Mainnet
Aave V4 has been a long time in the making and we're excited to be one step closer to launch. We encourage developers to experiment with testnet and to test the new features. We'd also love to hear feedback from users on Aave Pro, as we continue to make adjustments leading into mainnet launch.
