The Best Company for Teen Travel

Scott told us that his time with AAVE in Costa Rica was the best 3 weeks of his life! (And we have gone on some great trips!). He was extremely impressed with the native Costa Rica guide and felt that he had a true immersion experience with the host families. He made a lot of friends, improved his Spanish (current Spanish teacher has already complimented Scott on his speaking abilities), and just had a wonderful experience, which he will treasure throughout his life. We couldn’t be happier with AAVE. Thank you and keep up your hard work to make AAVE the best company for teen travel. -Debbie Kern

I have to say that the trip was a complete success from beginning to end and ongoing. You seem to have this down. Everything is so well thought out and covered, which as a parent sending her child off with complete strangers, is very comforting! I couldn’t have done it had I not felt that she was going to be in very experienced, well trained, and prepared hands! Sarah loved her trip leaders, the activities, the host family stays, Spanish school, the community service projects and the friends she made. She is still in touch with two girls that she became close with on the trip. She came back more confident, a bit more informed about another place/culture and the people there. -Robbie Raker

An Awesome Costa Rican Adventure

Madison had an awesome time in Costa Rica. We were pleased with the adventure, community service and immersion that was all part of the trip. The trip was so well thought out and organized; we were thrilled with the AAVE experience and would highly recommend it to others. Madison’s favorite part of the experience was meeting the other kids. She went not knowing anyone and came back with 12 new friends, several that she will definitely stay in touch with. Gaby had a wonderful time. She especially loved her Tico families. She also enjoyed the community service work. She worked with all the kids at a center. She taught them improvisation. They made cards for her which she will cherish. She did many things that she never experienced before like horseback riding, spulunking, and zip-lining. The whole trip was a great experience for her. -Lois FeBland

Everything was great! The trip had a really good combination of adventure, community service, and learning which always kept us on our toes. The leaders were amazing, and I loved all the other kids in our group, most of which have already become some of my closest friends. I can’t wait to see everyone again and hopefully do another AAVE trip next summer! -Lucy Svoboda

This Costa Rica trip was so spectacular for Corbin. It provided him with an opportunity to experience another culture hands on with experienced leaders. I feel that Corbin has grown from this experience. I will definetly be looking into more trips with AAVE for the future. Thanks for a great and safe summer! -Christie Stafford

Sam had a terrific time on his trip and seemed to grow in both confidence and maturity. He loved the homestays and really enjoyed spending time with both his Costa Rican families. He definitely got to see more than just the tourist side of Costa Rica, but also had a great time surfing, zip-lining and doing other adventures. Suzy Cohen

Clovis came back so enthusiastic about his experience in Costa Rica he talked a mile a minute about all he saw and did as well as how great the leaders, the other kids and the host families were. He said he started thinking in Spanish and said he improved a lot. He enjoyed the hands on work feeling and felt he made a contribution. He even had the blisters to prove it! The Coolest Experience! AAVE Costa Rica

The ENTIRE trip was a success! It was really one of the coolest experiences of my life. So much so that I have already written a college essay on part of my trip to Costa Rica. All the people were absolutely amazing, and between the language school and the home-stays, I learned soooo much Spanish!! It is now fun to talk in Spanish whenever I can, and I practice with my teachers at school. -Ben Cessine
